Halloween 2009

A few days before Halloween Jane and I were in the grocery store together. There were too older ladies that started talking to Jane. Here's how the conversation went.... "Well, what are you going to be for Halloween?" "I'm going to be a witch" Jane said as she squinted her eyes and squished up her nose. "Oh, I bet you're a nice witch though aren't you?" At this point I knew that the lady was in for it and I was right. "No, I am a mean witch and I eat Princesses!" The poor little lady just gave me a weird look and excused herself. Oh it was funny. We had a good time on Saturday going to trunk r treat and then hanging out in the neighborhood. Here are a few pics from our day. I'll include some more later.Jane, friend Andrew, Charlie
Kimber and Moe

Charlie with too much ketchup and mustard.
Do you recognize all of the characters in this Harry Potter family? They were hilarious.
I hope you all had a Happy Halloween .

Family Visits

We were expecting to have a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Crosland these last two weeks but Grandpa got sick and isn't well enough to travel, so they had to put off the trip for a while. Fortunate for us Aunt Leslie didn't cancel her trip and so she came to join our crazy house for a week and help out.
(Jane and Aunt Leslie)
She also came with a box full of fun from Grandma.

She sent some Halloween decorations that were up and going before I had a chance to grab the camera.

Then she made two adorable "princess capes" for Jane and Moe. So cute, right?
This is just because we never seem to get enough of his cute face on the blog.
I can't seem to get Maggie in any good pictures lately. She is either charging the camera or running away from it. She did happen to look really cute this morning.
Today, I stayed home and rested while they all went to church.
I believe that church was just too much for Mike and Leslie because they both snuck away to nap while I put a movie on for the kids.

I'm Sitting Here Smiling

Jane is playing with her little Snow White doll. (Snow White came without underpants on.) I just caught Jane saying to her doll,
"Don't show your privates or your friends are not going to play with you."

Tea Party

How cute is this little girl? I'll answer that, cute! Jane was invited to her first "Birthday Tea Party" There were three other girls there and I'm still waiting to get the pictures from the party. I'm sure that they were hilarious. She was instructed to come all dressed up so I even let her wear a little blush and lipgloss.

I could have taken pictures all day long. Mike was giving me the "enough already eye" since he was the one dropping her off at the party. He said it was hard to buckle her in with all of the fluff.

My Crapnosis

I feel crappy. Yep it's out there and I said it. Is there anything worse than feeling sick while all of your children have energy and want to live a normal life? No I say, it just leaves you feeling all the more crappy. I took a picture of my miserable self.

29-52

Mike is doing his best (which is really quite good). He has been taking over every aspect of the home while I sit in bed or on the couch most of the time and feel crappy. The other night I couldn't sleep and so I finally decided to go to the Dr. and have him give me a real diagnosis.I have been sick for about a month but it really only got bad a few days ago. So I have pneumonia and a sinus infection. Really the sinus infection is what bothers me the most. Sure there's fluid in my lung but it doesn't make me feel crappy.

Janey Janes

Jane is at the perfect age where almost everything that comes out of her mouth is entertaining. She's certainly sassy but at this age it makes me smile a bit. Jane is great at entertaining herself. She can play pretend for hours. She loves to color and paint and she really loves playing with her girlfriend across the street, Carys. I love seeing what beautiful concoction of patterns and colors she chooses to dress herself in. She is a feisty delight.

This is our "Where's Janey?" waldo moment.

Essence of Jane. Yes, she is in her underwear and yes, her shirt is covered in barbecue sauce and her hair is a ratty mess; but, she is dancing and she is happy.

Birthday Boy

I keep telling him not to grow up and doesn't listen.
FIVE - 5 - five -FIVE - 5 - five - FIVE - 5 - five - FIVE - 5 - five - he's really five.
Charlie knows how to be kind to his sisters. ( Did you catch the way that was worded?) .He has a lot of energy and excitement. He is eager to learn new things and loves to seek the "thrill" in just about any activity. He will continue to keep us on our toes and we love it.
As Charlie would say it....."Our brain is telling us" that we love him very much!

Charlie at age two and half.

Always goofing off, age four and half.

We love you bud, Happy Birthday!

Shenandoah Hike

We went on a lovely hike this weekend. The leaves are just starting to change and the hike was perfect for the kids. The whining didn't start until the very end. Then all three fell asleep in the car on the drive home. I'd call it a success! Mike and Moe

Prayer

I am grateful that Charlie prays to his Heavenly Father. I'm glad that he knows he is heard. I do worry a bit about him understanding how our Father in Heaven answers our prayers. Here are a couple from this last week...
I went to check on Charlie as he was sleeping and I walked in to find him awake. He said that he had a bad dream. Then this is what came out of his mouth next.
"Don't worry Mom I prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked him to get Satan out of his bad mood."

Why didn't I think of that? Hope it works.

Charlie loves playing the Wii and we had created a person on there for each one of our family members. Well Charlie decided to create two more little boys. After each creation where he picked their name, hair style and color, eyes, etc., he would kneel down and pray. Mike caught him on this one.

Mike just stood there and waited until he was finished and then said, "What are you doing bud?"

Charlie: " Oh, I was just asking Heavenly Father to send down Gus just the way that I made him. The same hair and big smile."

Coming sometime to our family will be Gus and Wyatt. They may look a little goofy but they will be loved.

A Day in the Life of Moe

The sweet life really. Who wouldn't love to take two naps a day and then walk around and play with whatever is within her reach? I have some pictures from a few different days this last week.Morning always begin with a yogurt. She is really into feeding herself right now. So after a few attempts with the spoon she knows she can get a lot more accomplished with the hand dip.Why is it that all of Maggie's pictures involve food? She had just eaten in her highchair but still managed to find her way to the empty kids table to sneak their left overs.

Afternoon naps are the best. I knew that there was trouble when all of the kids made it to her bedroom before me. I just turned back around to get the camera before going in her room. Everyone wants Moe's attention. She is the highlight of the home for all of the kids.

(27-52)

If I'm mowing the lawn then she wants to do it with me. She will stand on the patio crying with her arms held out. It's pathetic and I usually give in.

She is a trooper. Her big sister enjoys dragging her around and squeezing and kissing her so much that she screams. She has 12 teeth, she is beginning to run (okay walk faster), she loves to look at books, try on every ones shoes, dance and do everything herself. We're pretty lucky to have her in our family.
