Fourteen Again

I have a bad patch of acne, zits, pimples., whatever you choose to call them. They are not cool and I shower them with cover up and powder in the morning then scrub them with soap at night. This has been going on for over a month. It probably doesn't help that I pop them, but who can resist that? Not me. Anyway I feel like I'm back in junior high. Yikes. No picture necessary.

Dance

Jane and I love to dance. We dance every day in the kitchen. Today while dancing to Taylor Swift's "Love Story". She said this....
"When I get big, I am going to be Belle and Charlie is going to be a Handsome Prince and we are going to get married in the Temple." 24-52
This is a conversation that we often have. Sometimes she is a princess and sometimes she is a specific princess. Charlie is always the one that she is going to marry in the Temple. I've tried a couple of times to explain to her that she won't be marrying her brother.
I guess I'll just be happy that she loves him so much. She'll be grossed out soon enough.

Lazy Days

If Charlie had his way, then every day would be filled with friends, friends and more friends. He rarely needs down time. I have learned that I need it and want it. I love time with just my family. I love time with just my own brain and no one interrupting. Today is a good day. The kids are quietly content with watching a movie. Every once and a while these two little voices say "more chocolate milk please". I keep getting more chocolate milk. I want to, I like these days.

Dog Sitting

We have the pleasure of watching Toby for a week. We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to see how we would all get along with a dog. So far things have gone too well. The problem that I see now is the fact that Toby isn't normal. He is so well behaved that it is a little frightening to me.
Charlie doesn't seem to really care about him. Jane follows him around all day. Moe spent the first day screaming and running any time he walked into her direction but now she follows him around trying to get in some good touches.

Toby is mild. I have yet to see him break into a run. He has barked a total of four times and that would be a single bark when he heard the doorbell. He has given a warning growl to Jane a couple of times but I can hardly blame him. She smothers him and pets him and rolls on him and plays with his feet. The other really strange thing that he does involves staying in the yard. We don't have a fence and we have neighbors with dogs. When he needs to do his business he just sits by our back door, takes care of a few things in our yard and then returns. I find all of these good manners a little strange. Needless to say when his owner returns we just might not answer the door.

In this photo Jane is "fixing" Mike's hair and "looking for ticks".

Digital Saves Money

I am so grateful for digital cameras. I find more of these photos than I can count. Don't worry I have removed all of the different angles of my rear end.

Walking!!!

It's official! Moe is finally walking more than crawling. She is accomplishing this great feat at 14 months. That is a month sooner than Charlie and a month after Jane. So I suppose she's right on target to be in our family. We love this munchkin and she has been showing a new and frightening temper. When frustrated Maggie will scream, hit herself over and over and then bite whatever is closest. Yes, she has gotten the kids and Mom and Dad before. Mike tends to think that this is highly entertaining and so occasionally he will taunt her, for a good laugh of course. Today when I was holding Moe, I opened the fridge and immediately her little chubby hands went from "more" to "please" and back again. (sign language). So I fed her a second lunch because her panic was evident and oh so cute.

Anniversary

Yes, yet again we have forgotten our wedding anniversary. This is not a new thing for us. In fact we did it last year too. Don't get the wrong idea. We love each other very much. I just have a terrible memory and it's rubbing off on my husband. So three days after the fact, I realized that we had forgotten. I walked upstairs and said to Mike, "guess what we did again?" to which he quickly replied "oh, happy anniversary". I blurted it out with him and he was really proud of the fact that he said it first. Then came my reply, "honey it was three days ago". (We have a fun trip planned in November so we weren't totally ignoring our last ten years together.)

So this last weekend our niece Paige and her husband Mike watched our kids over night. Friday we went to help with the Stake Trek and then we went to hotel that night. WE SLEPT FOR TWELVE HOURS STRAIGHT. Isn't that the coolest thing ever? I woke up that next day and said, "can we do this once every quarter?" I can't even begin to tell you how good I feel. Totally refreshed. We spent Saturday shopping and then came home to happy kids. Thanks Paige and Mike.

(22-52)

Mike and I have been married ten years! I love him he is a kind husband and caring father. I really couldn't ask for more.
