Short Fuse

I try really hard not to yell at my kids. I try to keep our home a calm place. BUT, I discovered that when I'm sick, which I've been for the last couple of days, I have a short temper. Every loud noise and fight wears on me. So today I found myself screaming these words to my kids....

"STOP IT RIGHT NOW! THERE IS NO YELLING IN THIS HOUSE!"

Yes, I realized at the time how ridiculous it sounded but I did it. Fortunately for me all I got back was a "sorry mom".

I hope to be feeling better soon.

I wish I could say that the only time I yell is when I'm sick. :) My fuse must be a little shorter than yours. Another reason to want to be like Kimber!

I NEVER do things like that Kim. You should be ashamed. One time I did see Kevin spank one of the kids while saying, "We don't hit!" though. J/K Sure love ya and hope you're feeling better soon!

I am so sorry that you are sick! I cannot even imagine you yelling! You are always too happy and fun for me to picture it!

I think you are suppose to fly out here whenever you are feeling sick. We'll have the pool up next week and I'm sure your sweet children would never yell or fight at Aunt Debi's house. It's really too bad you moved so far away where I can't be there to help you. I wonder what you could do about that?

Oh my mom's such a stinker sometimes isn't she. I hope you feel better soon. You don't really have a "sick break" when you're a mom of three do you? Good luck hon.

I think it is hereditary-- Or maybe it's the swine flu that makes you yell?

Sorry to hear you have been sick. Hope you are better soon. Pres. Obama says to stay home, rest, wash your hands and don't eat pork. Hope this works for you.

I confess that I find myself yelling sometimes (I always feel like I've lost control when I resort to yelling), but actually, I don't have to confess, because the people living below us are probably already spreading the news! :)
