Mike's Birthday

The man is climbing up there in age, but he still has his sweet dance moves. He danced with the kids last night while I made dinner. Every one was in a good mood and it was a nice family night. I still happen to enjoy him and find him adorable.
Tonight we will celebrate by having a few friends over for dinner.
Mr. Damien doesn't know it (though he should), but he and I are in a bit of a fight.
And on that note.
Let's just take a poll here.
What kind of gift giver are you? Do you give what you want the other person to have or do you give something that the receiver would enjoy? Really, please answer this question.
There will be a post to follow, explaining both sides. Maybe I'll even let Mr. D write his own post, though I will certainly have to edit it.

happy birthday mike! I forgot that him and ammon share the same birthday! i get the gift the person wants, there is no guessing involved or stressing wondering if they are going to like it or not. pretty simple, ask the person to tell you exactly what they want, drive to the store pick it up, wrap it, and be the person they love for the day because you got them what they really wanted! :)

Happy Birthday Mike! I always try to buy what the person wants. That way they are happy with their gift.

Happy Birthday Mike! I am bad at gift giving, so if I know what the person wants, I try to give them that. If I am not sure of what to give them, I go with something I would love and share it with them. Either way, it usually works out.

I fear I usually give what I would want, or would want them to have. Especially with Wade and Tessa, lucky for them, I like nice things and wish nice things for them, even if they don't want them!

Who is Mr. D?

I have to say that I don't usually ask what a person wants, but maybe with a spouse I would. I usually try to find something that I think they would like. I don't think I am wrong to much of the time. Jenny

I guess I'm guilty of giving both types, but I try to give the gift a person wants. However, sometimes Matt doesn't do a good job of letting me know what it is he wants. Thus, he always hates what I give him :(

It's about time you updated the blog! I've been waiting...
I usually get what the person wants (though I try to find it on sale). I always like getting what I want - otherwise, what if I don't like it???
Oh yeah, Happy old age Mike!

Happy Birthday Mike! I try to get what the person wants but I fear most of the time it probably ends up being what I would like or what I would like them to have. Especially when people (like the wonderful men in my life) don't tell me what they want I end up having to guess and I guess by picking something I like and think they would enjoy too. Luckily, I think have good taste and they end up liking what I give.

Is it bad to say I give what's on sale? Then write a REALLY nice card about how great they are. I'm not sure what category that goes in.

That is a tough question. I think sometimes they are the same like I really wanted Roland to have a new guitar for Christmas and it was also something he loved to get. Really I think I've done it both ways. Guess I'm no help here. :)
Happy Birthday Mike!

I try to give or at least figure out the best I can what the other people wants.
